Hamburger Casserole

While vacuum sealing rice yesterday, i thought about what i could make with it. Homemade Chinese stir-fry? Maybe. Hamburger Casserole? YES!!! :)
My sister & brother-in-law make an awesome hamburger casserole. This was my first time making it. So, i decided to kind of wing it. This is my own recipe. Please read ALL before making this. Lol. Apparently, it makes enough for 2 casseroles. :)
2 lbs browned hamburger
4 cups Minute rice
1 1/2 cups diced mushrooms
1 cup diced onion
1 cup diced green pepper
1/8 cup sugar
3-4 T Worcestershire sauce
2 T minced garlic
2 cups water
1/2 cup diced tomato
1/2 cup cooked corn (leftover from Sunday night dinner)
Shredded cheese (I used mozzarella.)
1 can tomato sauce
1 T salsa
Black pepper, to taste
2 T veg oil
1 can Crescent rolls
1. Take veg oil, mushrooms, onion, green pepper, & garlic. Cook on medium-high for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
2. In another pot, start cooking rice. Preheat over to 425 degrees.
3. Add water to veg/sauce mix. Cook for another 4 minutes.
4. Add Worcestershire sauce & hamburger to veg/sauce mix for 4-5 minutes.
5. Place Crescent rolls in bottom of casserole dish. Baked 8-9 minutes.
6. Mix rice, corn, veg/sauce mix, cheese & tomato sauce together.
7. Put 1/2 mix in casserole dish. Bake in oven for 12-14 minutes.
8. Place other 1/2 in freezer safe container. Lol.

Happy Labor Day!!!

Hey, Y'all! Happy Labor Day!!!
Today, I have sooo many plans that I want to get done. :) I guess that makes me LABORING on Labor Day. Lol. Oh Well. Hopefully, I'll get time to post them later!

So, last night we had over the in-laws for our traditional Sunday Dinner. It was quite a treat because we don't usually get the Honor of Hosting. Spud (DH) made baked spaghetti and garlic bread. I cut & tossed a salad. Nothing too fancy, just a simple & yummy home-cooked meal. :)  It's nice to be able to just stay home for once.

Hope that everyone has a fun, happy, SAFE holiday!    <3 Britt
