Part 2: Becoming a Weightloss Warrior

I have been "dieting" for years. Like everyone else, I try this fad & that fad. Every time, it ends in failure. It doesn't work. I cheat on it... Whatever the case, it doesn't work out.

So last year, I knew that we were going to Florida on our first family vacation.

That's when I decide to "get in shape," ...at least try to... AGAIN. Lol.

I was PUMPED! I was READY! I was MOTIVATED! According to Pinterest, I was on my way to a healthier lifestyle. That was until I was a month or so from leaving... I hadn't even budged from Zombie-like couch-potato-lounging-junk-food-eating-pronasticator-of-pronasticators status!! (WTF?!)

So, I went to the one person who can (and LOVES to) whip my butt into gear. My Sister. :D

I started using Sparkpeople.

I just cannot believe how much more aware I am now. I REALLY think about the food I eat, my exercise, everything.

So, if you want to follow me on this little one woman journey, then please look on Weightloss Warriors on A Walk in the Rustic Homestead.

I Am A Weightloss Warrior

So, like most people, I am trying to get into shape, lose weight, & be healthy. I have been walking, jogging/running, eating healthier, etc. etc...
I have been using a website that makes me more accountable of what i eat & drink, my fitness, my weight & my measurements. I love it! It's called Spark People.

Since August of last year, I have lost just under 20 pounds. I know that it isn't much to some people. It's still 20 LBS to me! :) I have bad days and great days. I don't starve or deprive myself. I haven't had any surgeries.

What about you? What are your opinoins? Tips? Journeys? Accomplishments??

I. WANT. TO. HEAR. THEM. :D

Catching Up...

So sorry! It has been quite a while!

I have been SUPER busy! I am sure that y'all have been, too. :)

ANYWAYS, Amy & I are venturing out (slowly, but surely) into the blogging/business world.

So, keep following for more posts.

We are starting another blog called "A Walk in the Rustic Homestead". The best part of all of the Blogs that I am on is that they are ALL CONNECTED!! All that you have to do is go through the Tabs at the top of each Page! Easier is always better!

Pinterest Addiction

Today, I  dropped off Brooke with her favorite Aunt & Uncle (and cousin). They went fishing! I heard that she caught a LOT of fish! Afterwards, I was cleaning & walking on the treadmill. Then, I decided to get check emails. Over 7000!! That turned into PINTEREST.
I AM A PINTERSTING ADDICT. My sister tells me that I need to get rid of it. Lol :D I am in the process of pinning all of my nearly 9,000 likes. Hahaha

Fun with friends

Hey, y'all. Tonight, my friend & her 2 boys are coming over! Yaaay! :D We are starting a new website/blog together with another friend of ours.
We have all known each other since Kindergarten. We may have grown in slightly different directions, but never too far apart. So, i had this idea about starting a website but was too chicken to ho ahead with it. This past year has been very challenging for me. That's when i decided to make the rest of this year (& years to come) about becoming the person that I WANT TO BE.
Soon I'll update you about the new site/blog. Ttys. <3 Brittany

Hamburger Casserole

While vacuum sealing rice yesterday, i thought about what i could make with it. Homemade Chinese stir-fry? Maybe. Hamburger Casserole? YES!!! :)
My sister & brother-in-law make an awesome hamburger casserole. This was my first time making it. So, i decided to kind of wing it. This is my own recipe. Please read ALL before making this. Lol. Apparently, it makes enough for 2 casseroles. :)
2 lbs browned hamburger
4 cups Minute rice
1 1/2 cups diced mushrooms
1 cup diced onion
1 cup diced green pepper
1/8 cup sugar
3-4 T Worcestershire sauce
2 T minced garlic
2 cups water
1/2 cup diced tomato
1/2 cup cooked corn (leftover from Sunday night dinner)
Shredded cheese (I used mozzarella.)
1 can tomato sauce
1 T salsa
Black pepper, to taste
2 T veg oil
1 can Crescent rolls
1. Take veg oil, mushrooms, onion, green pepper, & garlic. Cook on medium-high for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
2. In another pot, start cooking rice. Preheat over to 425 degrees.
3. Add water to veg/sauce mix. Cook for another 4 minutes.
4. Add Worcestershire sauce & hamburger to veg/sauce mix for 4-5 minutes.
5. Place Crescent rolls in bottom of casserole dish. Baked 8-9 minutes.
6. Mix rice, corn, veg/sauce mix, cheese & tomato sauce together.
7. Put 1/2 mix in casserole dish. Bake in oven for 12-14 minutes.
8. Place other 1/2 in freezer safe container. Lol.

Happy Labor Day!!!

Hey, Y'all! Happy Labor Day!!!
Today, I have sooo many plans that I want to get done. :) I guess that makes me LABORING on Labor Day. Lol. Oh Well. Hopefully, I'll get time to post them later!

So, last night we had over the in-laws for our traditional Sunday Dinner. It was quite a treat because we don't usually get the Honor of Hosting. Spud (DH) made baked spaghetti and garlic bread. I cut & tossed a salad. Nothing too fancy, just a simple & yummy home-cooked meal. :)  It's nice to be able to just stay home for once.

Hope that everyone has a fun, happy, SAFE holiday!    <3 Britt
